Hi I’m Sal! I’m a 25 year old artist from New Jersey. I’ve been doing art since I was a kid, but reconnected with it in a new and powerful way when I was a sophomore at Boston University while studying history. Since graduating I have worked on a vegetable farm, as a children’s art teacher, and currently as a licensed esthetician. I spend my free time staring at clouds & trees and talking to bugs.

I have always loved to draw and paint, but when I was younger I never felt confident enough to consider myself an artist. When I was working with kids I taught them not to worry about their pieces looking any certain way, but to enjoy the process and keep practicing. I realized I had to take my own advice. Art became my most beloved companion during some very difficult years, and my beautiful friends continued to encourage and support me, and gave me the confidence to want to share my work.

Growing up queer often felt lonely, but I was always able to find a friend in nature and the many beautiful creatures that I found in it. My art is an homage to my younger self, and the friends I found that others could not see. Thank you for taking a look :)
